Bobby C. Speegle

Rev. Bobby Chunn Speegle of Forney, Texas passed away on March 17, 2022. He was born on August 7, 1934 in Hartselle, Alabama and grew up at his family’s home place on Speegle Street in Hartselle. He graduated from Morgan County High School where he loved sports, especially football, and felt called to pursue a life of full-time Christian ministry while a member of his childhood church, Hartselle First Baptist. He proudly served in the United States Navy and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southern Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. He served as a pastor in numerous churches in Alabama, Texas, Kentucky, and Indiana. He and his wife served as Southern Baptist Missionaries in Liberia, West Africa from 1975-1979.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 64 years, Mary Sue Prince Speegle; two sons: Christopher Speegle (wife Parveen); Michael Speegle; one daughter: Karen Badgley and grandchildren: Jackson Badgley and Myra Speegle; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Clay D. Speegle, his mother, Lucille Chunn Speegle, and brother, Jimmy Speegle. He will be remembered for his exceptional love for his family, his kindness towards others, and his compassion for all of humanity.
